Sean McGuiness

Sean is the Head of Commercial Litigation and Arbitration specialising in high value cross-border litigation, international arbitration and asset tracing and recovery. He has particular experience in financial services, energy and natural resources, fraud and contentious insolvency.

Sean frequently supports insolvency practitioners with commercial disputes brought on behalf of creditors where that makes sense for all stakeholders. He is responsible for identifying claims and developing funding structures that work for clients on commercial disputes. Sean’s background enables Augusta to address the particular risks, commercial challenges and complex issues faced by clients with claims in these sectors globally.

Prior to joining Augusta, Sean worked in the international dispute resolution team at DLA Piper, a leading global law firm. Sean worked on a wide variety of claims involving parties across the globe, including across Europe, MENA, offshore and in the US.

Sean holds a LLB (Hons) from the London School of Economics. He is a solicitor admitted in England and Wales, and an Attorney admitted in Texas.
